Nightmare fodder
Photographs of a giant spider eating a bird in an Australian garden have stunned wildlife experts.
Yeah, apparently those wildlife experts have never heard of Australia, and the nightmarish insectoid horrors that developed there, worse than anything you'd find in a cheap 50s sci-fi film.
The Golden Orb Weaver spins a strong web high in protein because it depends on it to capture large insects for food.
As if Australia had anything other than large insects. Everything on and around that island is huge, poisonous, and wants to kill you.
And now the spiders are catching birds in their webs. They're working their way up the evolutionary ladder.
