Harlock - Column for 2/20

So, what's my excuse?

Yes, today I didn't have a column ready and waiting for my throngs of devoted readers. And now you're going to have to live with a relatively short column. Why?

First, the whole holiday screwed me up. I usually write these things on Monday, unless the muse strikes me earlier, which is pretty rare. But Monday was a holiday, and I wasn't thinking about writing. And then Tuesday comes around, I go back to work, and am absolutely swamped. I'm trying to get a bunch of docs ready for a release at the end of the month, the people in charge of such things finally settled on product names, and it looks like the installation guide will be the first doc finished, which just isn't how these things usually happen.

Second, I'm sick. I've had a headache for a few days now, and yesterday it decided to stop messing around and turn into a real, can't-blame-this-on-weather-changes illness. Complete with cold sweat, midnight and early morning nausea, delightful shifts between freezing, bone-aching cold and prickling, too damn hot, and then lovely fever dreams. The same surreal images, all night long. I'd wake up, turn to my side, experience that friendly twinge of nausea, roll onto my back, drift off, see the saucers, skeletal keyboard, and unsolvable arrays of numbers, and then repeat until dawn. Being sick annoys me to no end.

So I'm sleeping it off today.
